Zaouli - a traditional djembe drum rhythm

Djembe Rhythms are a type of African Drum Rhythm that usually refers to musical arrangements involving 2 or more drums, one of which being a djembe drum.

Zaouli (binary) djembe call

Relates to Zaouli

Binary version of Zaouli as taught by Mamady. Djembe call. X is a muffled slap. Note that the six basses at the end of the call are half-speed triplets. The lead djembe plays the call up to and including the muffled slap. The ensemble responds with the remainder of the call following the muffled slap.
