Weekend of Folkloric Music & Dance from Guinea, West Africa!

Join The Wula Drum World Percussion Center as we celebrate a weekend full of folkloric music and dance from Guinea, West Africa with Famoro Dioubate and M'Bemba Bangoura!

On Friday 8/12/11 Famoro Dioubate is conducting a 2 hour Balaphone workshop! Famoro is a Griot Balaphone Master who descends from an eight-hundred year old musical and story-telling tradition from West Africa.

Class is from 6:30 - 8:30 PM and costs $30 (Balaphone rental included).

On Saturday 8/13/11 M'Bemba Bangoura will be conducting two Djembe and Dundun workshops followed by a Dundun Dance workshop. As a native of Guinea, West Africa, M'Bemba has traveled throughout the world as a performer and teacher of African drum and dance and is revered worldwide for his high level of mastery.

Beginner/Intermediate Djembe 12:00 - 1:30pm
Intermediate/Advanced Djembe 1:30 - 3:00pm
Dundun Dance 3:30 - 5:00pm

All three workshops are $60. Two workshops are $40. Single workshop is $25.
