NYC - Dundunba Dungeon with Michael Markus

Come immerse yourself in the incredible Dundunba rhythms from the Hamana region of Guinea, West Africa!

This Saturday, 12/3/11 from 12-5 pm

In this workshop, participants will learn the breaks, djembe accompaniments, solo phrases, dundun, sangba, kenknei parts with variations and doubling patterns for Dundunba. In addition we will take time to learn the history and cultural context of the rhythms along with video showing of Dundunba footage from Guinea, both in traditional and contemporary contexts.

Dundunba is a world unto itself and will expand your musical horizons, come join us!
