mare sanogo is one of the old veterans of the ballet du mali. have a listen to his cd fourasi which is a real gem. he can also be heard on dee dee bridgewater's red earth, louis cesar ewande's percussion ensemble and the cd sarala where he collaborated with hank jones and cheick tidiane seck.

this 12 day camp in the village of siby in the mande highlands between bamako and narena is suitable for all levels of drumming and dance. separate workshops will be held for the beginner and advanced levels of drumming (total 4 hours per day) while the dance workshop will be mixed level (each 3 hours per day). it is possible to do attend both the drumming and the dance workshops, or for the advanced students to play accompaniment for the dance workshops.
