Hey Djembefellas and Djembegals,

We all know that the djembe is a symbol of West African culture. We also know that other regions of the world, including the African continent, produce djembes as a matter of commerce and not of culture.

I recently came upon a djembe reportedly from Madagascar, way on the other side of the African continent.

Are djembes made in Madagascar in meaningful numbers? If so, are they made as a matter of culture or of commerce?
