I bought a beautiful new djalla djembe a while ago. It came from Famoudou's compound and is one of those huge ones that he likes to play. Oh my god it sounds amazing but I digress...the problem is the base of the djembe is somewhat flared so it's very wide at the bottom (11.5 inches / ~29cm) and I can't find a good bag to fit it.
The problem's exacerbated by a rubber foot making it even harder to squeeze into a tight space.
Protection racket's biggest bag is 10.5 inches (~27cm) so that's no good.
A friend of mine had the sister drum to mine. He had a Stagg bag but the drum destroyed it in 2 months (these drums are heavy too). He said he found a company called TKL who were making good bags, but that they've stopped distributing in the UK.
Anyway, we both need bags now. Any suggestions?
