these advanced workshops will be held in chenedet, a farm 60km from rennes, for 5 days of intensive training. it is suitable for advanced players who have already addressed traditional solo practice (although not necessarily in the malian repertoire).

workshops include total immersion in the music, accommodation, all meals, in alternating groups of 3 to 4 people and rehearsal time to study the traditional rhythms in depth. drummers will have the opportunity to accompany a dancer in the traditional rhythms covered during the training period.

sega's teaching focuses on learning the traditional phrases, mostly played to accompany dancing. the transmission of these sentences is not an end in itself but a starting point. learn how to start the phrase and come out in different ways to add variations and bind each phrase with another, to introduce what sega calls the 'little game' that allows the djembefola to play a long time without tiring his audience. the objective is to find some freedom in playing while respecting the tradition.

limited places! must book before christmas!
