Other west African instruments, like balafon, ngoni etc.

Hi all,

Does anybody have experience with the travel duns that are being sold through djembe direct? It looks like they are about half the depth of the normal size drums.

I am looking to invest in a set of duns and have limited space but I am wondering if anybody has experience with these before I make the investment.

Also, has anybody heard of any other makers making duns in this portable, travel size configuration?

I don't have any experience with the Djembe Direct ones. But I do have a light-weight "stumpy" sangban, a little less than half as tall as a normal one. It sounds OK, but not as good as a full-size one.
