There is a simple solution for the "ring" of an artificial Djembe Head. To slightly control the overtone ( I am using a 14" Mondo Remo Djembe with a Skyndeep head) take a 1" furniture
foam rubber "glide" and place it Under the head near any edge. This allows a natural sound
without the excessive plastic sounding ring often associated with the head. Elaborate solutions often suggested are not necessary- but using too much muffling is also to be avoided. This is a
$3.00 easy fix.
