About time Congahead covered a great djembe player. Weedie is Diffidently my favorite djembe Fola at the moment. He is out on his own in terms of ability and fluidity to play with different styles of music.

That's really amazing playing! That's also pretty much he first time that I have heard conga and djembe combined in a way that actually works. (I find that most of the cross-cultural pieces I have seen feel forced.)

Pedrito Martinez is a serious cuban percussionist, could be said that he is the best around at the moment. His musicality and virtuosity he applys to playing congas combines modern as well as folkloric influences, he is a force. Here is Weedie and Pedrito joining forces. This shows Weedies knowledge of percussion goes alot deeper than just a gereral understanding than just applying what he knows about djembe to other percussion. Also being born in Ghana where there is a wide verity of percussional instruments surly help his virtuosity.
