I'll try to find out. these guys are portuguese. This trip I believe was made some years ago, unless the footage is from a more recent trip.
Three guys assembled a car from scratch and travelled from the northern border of Portugal to Guinea in it. They visited Fadouba, were in Sangbarala. They have brought Billy to Portugal for workshops a few times.

The video producer has a facebbok profile. I already asked if the documentary was already released. If they reply, I'll keep you updated. But I have the feeling that the film isn't released yet. Don't know

So, as I thought, it hasn't been released yet. The producer and director told me it may take a few months to be finished.

When it's out, if I get noticed of it, I'll say something here.

AFAIK, the documentary is not quite out yet, but hopefully I will hear about it from Billy when it is. I was actually in Guinea, studying with Billy, while the filmmakers were there, so I got to see firsthand how they worked and hear quite a few of their stories.

This is a video I shot while Famoudou and family did a demonstration for the filmmakers - so parts of this will be in the documentary. Famoudou & family performing Mendiani. Enjoy!

Dugafola, you're welcome - I have more great video from that day which I still haven't uploaded (soli & konowulen!) but I hope to edit it soon. It's just a tad over my 20-minute maximum, so maybe I'll just split it in two sections, but there's also a few minutes of Famoudou speaking at the beginning.

One question I do have - how do you get videos to embed? Or is there a post somewhere about formatting that I just haven't found yet?

If the URL of the video is something like

http://www.vimeo.com/22251295

then you can embed it like this:

Just strip the http:// prefix and surround it with the video tags. For this to work, you need to switch on BB-code in the editing preferences of your user control panel. (I think BB-code is on by default.)

Cheers,

Michi.

Thanks Michi - so, like this then:

This is yet another small preview of something that may (or may not) end up in the video - as you can see, there's the guy with the tripod in my frame. It was actually pretty hilarious - almost that entire trip, nearly everything I shot ended up with this guy in it somewhere :)
