"The second ternary "Mendiani" rhythm in the Hamana region of Guinea. Interesting fact: Mostly the children play the Sangban part with the right hand and the Dundunba part with the left - like a bell part. For this rhythm it's different, because the Dundunba structure is more important to the children as in other rhythms: They play the Dundunba part with the right hand here and fill in one of the two Sangban strokes with the left hand.
Concerning the dance you will notice that there's no need for elder women to teach many steps to the young girls, for they've already seen it often enough to do some of it on their own!"
