Tassaba in Morinyumala

Postby dleufer » Wed Mar 14, 2012 11:36 pm

Hey guys,
This is the first of the videos from my trip. It's just a short, but nice, one of the Tassaba mask in Morinyumala. Morinyumala is about 1 hour drive (on terrible dirt roads) from Baro. Unfortunately the mask stopped dancing less than a minute after I started filming!

Great, Daniel!
Thanks a lot! Who was on Sangban? Was it people from Baro playing? And what were they going to start after? Sounds like Gbereduka, but can this be true? Organized dundunba dancers from Baro coming up?
half a minute time and so many questions... d;-)

Man you're quick! It is Gbereduka and I'm in the process of uploading it right now.

It was the 3rd day of the Baradasa. They had just finished playing the evening session (I was kensedeni-fola!) and then Tassaba appeared for a brief spell. There was supposed to be a Soliwulen/Kawa (yes both of them) that night but we couldn't stay much to my dismay. But in the end the Soliwulen/Kawa didn't happen. The next day we came back to see Konden.

The sangban player is someone whose name I didn't get unfortunately. He is normally the dununba player in Morimala but in this clip petit Namory from Baro is on dununba.
