mito's main teacher was Fatabou Camara.

he was also in Ballet Gbassikolo with Fode Lavia Camara under the direction of Fode's father.

I studied with Mito quite a bit in Conakry in 2005. He's a bit of a monster, but very, very skilled. He taught me some really nice solo concepts that have really stuck with me.

werd.

he taught a class in santa cruz the last time he was here that i'll remember forever. the content was great, but it was more his hardass attitude and what he said more than anything.

Amazing. Sounds like he's best enjoyed remotely?

No, just your ego based on Duga's and Bop's comments:

He's a bit of a monster,

but it was more his hardass attitude and what he said more than anything.

He's a good guy... just gotta get to know him a bit. By 'monster' I just meant his style of playing. Very aggressive approach to the instrument.
