Very cool montage. You were at the workshop and didn't introduce yourself? Several of the pictures appeared to be taken somewhere other than RT. Was there another gathering somewhere else that weekend?

I caught a glimpse of myself in the reflection in one photo from Friday night, and it reminded me of what a long time it was from Friday night to Sunday evening's performance of Soli des Manian. The workshop was jam packed, especially for a rookie like me!

As an aside: What's the etiquette of posting pictures and audio recordings like this? I know Mamady (and others) don't want to be video'd, but I would think Mamady might also take issue with his performance at a workshop being posted without his permission? While I really appreciate slideshows, videos, and audio clips on this board, just wondering if we're not crossing the line on occasion when it comes to intellectual property? Hopefully everybody's cool with it, since it helps proliferate the culture and learning?

hi evan, i wasn't at the workshop in portland, i just thought i'd share this excellent video i found. the person who uploaded it mentioned that mamady didn't allow videorecording, but allowed audio recordings. i'm not sure how he would feel about this one circulating around. certainly, he wouldn't like a good part of a workshop being available to the public as a learning resource, without appropriate support from mamady or one of his ttm teachers (not to mention without patronage to his workshops). however, this is a very short piece and it's just a taste of the very nice stuff he teaches in his workshops.
