Yes, Ballet style sometimes in class.

Sorry but I prefer I real person...

This is when you donlt have a real person, usually at home for practice.

its home ensemble with 1 player, and the robot

e,
I play dunun in class, but I'm just a beginner. I'm looking at a set tomorrow to purchase, so I can practice outside of class. And yes, I prefer a real person, too.

I can't speak for nerd, but at least for me I don't see the gadget as a replacement for anything other than a recording used to practice djembe accompaniments and solos. It seems real drums, even if played by a machine, sound better than headphones or speakers. It also would seem to be a bit more fun to practice with real drums than a recording. Just my $0.02.

Besides, I'm a geek and I appreciate the ingenuity.

I like the 12volt bit. You could take it busking with you on a leisure battery. A definite crowd pleaser. :)

I "get" the reasons you guys like it - or at least, I do see the logic involved. :)

But basically, it's a drum machine, like the ones that became popular back in the 80s, and... for me, at least, it's just not something I'd want to be around.

Plus it kinda creeps me out! ;)

you got me.

but my point was the quality of the sound.

I mean, the slap's quality, the tones, the bass.

It would be easy, even boring, to input the patterns for some w african rhythms, some solo phrases, and all, but to put a machine producing a quality slap on a djembe, that's what I meant I would like to see.

That's the day I'll probably quit playing (I hope you don't come up with a video showing that machine...)

I think what you mean is impossible and I think we are all very happy with that..... You see on the dununrobot it's probably right what he plays, but so boring! Don't quit playing! You are better than any machine!
