tip for pulling rope on mali weave

just a little tip for you folks when doing the mali weave... get a clam cleat/ascender which will get a good grip on your rope in no time at all ($10-20). if you're stuck without one, you can use the old method of using a stick to pull your mali weave, but try this slip slip knot for your stick to go into. this knot gives a firm hold and will do you for 2 diamonds before you have to retie. the stick slips in and out when you're not pulling on the rope. this is much better than winding the rope several times around the stick which takes longer and has a slippage factor. try it!

I just do a couple wraps around my hand and yank... :) the rope burn turns to rough callus which makes my hands heavier and the drum sound brighter!!!
