ENO Tempo Djembe Bag

Postby Djembe-nerd » Thu Feb 03, 2011 2:09 am

I had the chance to get my hands on the ENO Tempo Djembe Bag/case we have been discussiong and here is my take on this bag.

POSITIVES : The bag has a hard top and several pockets, and attaching small bag/pocket, the outer courdura seems Ok. There is a steel ring at the base for (I guess) balance and damage protection from ground/cement.

NEGATIVES (From real djembe point of view) : The starps that take the weight of the bag are thin (only 0.5" wide), The stiching doesn't look enforced. The foam inside is thin and soft, and thins even more towards the joints.

CONCLUSIONS : Its an OK bag for light djembes ;) for carrying along, will not provide protection as a travel case. Its certainly not worth $140.
A good substitute for people in budget would be the Drumseeker Galaxy bag $68 or Drumseeker delux bag $78. For a good djembe case, DSD bags are the way to go.
If you want to see me kick some butt, just tell me about all the things you think I won't be able to do

The design of this bag is very similar to the TKL one. Two problems with the TKL bag I have noticed:
  • The eyelets at the waste for the drawstring have a tendency to tear loose. With the Eno bag, that won't be a problem because it has a cinch belt instead.
  • The stitching near the top where the different colored fabric parts are joined tends to tear over time (see photo).
It'll be interesting to see whether that also is a problem with the Eno version.
