I honestly don't know. Guessing, I would expect the cow skin to react less.
Hmmm... Come to think of it, my dunduns have been sounding shocking too for the past few weeks, and are now improving again with the dryer weather. So, maybe it really makes no difference. Dunduns have a lot less tension than a cow skin on djembe, so that may change things as well. Anyone know? (Speak up, all you cow skin players!)
