Pretty skins

Postby michi » Fri Feb 19, 2010 1:45 am

I just fitted this skin to my Jina djembe. I really love the pattern on that skin.

How about posting a few pics of beautiful skins? :)

Michi,

That IS a beautiful skin! I am a little jealous, LOL.

My current goatskin is dull brown. And the two cowskin rounds I just got are boring too.

I hope other folks have some pretty skins to share!

I agree with Rachel...that is a gorgeous skin!

Also, like Rachel's, all three of my djembes have dull, un-patterned, dirty-white skins. Boring, but at least they sound good.

Yeah, beauty doesn't imply good sound. Some of my best-sounding skins were also among the ugliest. But, every now and then, I get one that looks good and sounds good... Yum! :-)

Very somber and elegant. Appropriate for formal occasions, I'd say, with matching grey tie :)

my Mali drum - sounds as nice as it looks... (There are more dark spots, but I need to take a shot in daylight so that they'll show up clearly.)
