Be careful dealing with Pakistan

Postby shortypalmer » Mon Oct 17, 2011 11:28 am

`I just wanted everybody on this list to know that i sent almost 1000.00 to a company in Pakistan to buy some cowhide rounds. The name of the company is MRC. It has been two months, they have not sent my cow or answered my emails. I have been ripped off by them and I dont want anybody else to get hurt by them, be careful.

bummer. sorry to hear this happened to you. it's bad all around and makes it all the more challenging to deal with new sources for material.

sorry to hear about that...

Mid east mfg in Florida sells cow and goat skins originally from Pakistan. I have ordered skins from them many times and they always send them quickly. They are trustworthy in my experience.

Shorty, maybe you can call Mid east mfg and see if they can help you out? They might have a contact in Pakistan that can check out your situation. Mid east mfg has been selling instruments and skins from Pakistan for at least 18 years that I know of...

here's their website; http://www.mid-east.com/items.asp?Cc=Ca ... =1&Tp=&Bc=

You do us all a great favor by spreading the word, Mr. Palmer. A less generous person might have kept the information to themselves so as to spare their pride. I will definitely not be doing any business with MRC.

By coincidence, I was recently contacted by a representative of Naima Music House, also of Pakistan. Has anyone done business with them, or have any knowledge of their reputation? Any information, one way or the other, would be welcome.

If I have a good experience with NMH, I will let you know Mr. Palmer.

I get spam at least once a week from Naima. I put a "prove your human" code on my contact form because of them (they'd email me and flood my contact form with info). I've asked to be put off their mailing list and I now get 2 e-mails to each of business email addresses... I wont be contacting them for product!:)

These people actually have a website, which is no proof of legitimacy, but ,from my experience, few scammers would go to that length.

At this point, I'm not about to send them my money, but It's worth it to me to look further. I've asked them to direct me people they do business with here in the US who would be willing to vouch for them.

Let's wait and see.

Thanks guys,
