Positive feedback

Postby bubudi » Fri Apr 23, 2010 10:52 pm

hey djembefolas!

running a site like this is largely a thankless task. the hours spent reasearching, writing and presenting content, web development, moderating the forum, interviewing people, writing the newsletter, working on improvements, listening to people's feedback...

speaking of feedback, your positive feedback would go a long way to boost our small egos. they are really miniscule at the moment!

so if you'd like to show your appreciation for this site, please use this thread (as always, you can send me a private message if you have any suggestions for improvement).

I can prodly say that this site is my second teacher. The first I haven't met yet (will meet in 2 days) and the 3rd is the one I used to go to.

It is an all in one site. You get people with expertise in evrything related to West africa, and then once in a while we can have an off topic discussions, not to forget the humour section. Its going the right way with all the moderators and adminsitrators.

For future : I don;t know if this will be possible, but a notation for rhytyms will attract more people. This is how I came across when I started, was looking for ways to make a correct tone and slap and came here, haven;t left since :smokin:

thanks adam. we have a notation system here. it's still under development, but looking promising, with the ability to incorporate a visual representation of swing/microtiming. best of luck with your new teacher! it's really the best way forward.

Yes, I am very excited to meet him :-) I think Michi is already on the way.

I know the notation system here, its good but for reference something like paul Nas would be very good with separate full parts of popular rhytyms. I know it will take time.

For me, this is the best international forum of djembe - lovers, and I am very happy to have found it some months ago. I especially appreciate its international context and my big respect goes to you people who keep it alive and improving through your daily work and reactions in the forum. Hope you know who you are ! :)
Many thanx again.. hope to be somewhat helpful with my little addition. Also I hope to meet some of you in personal, sometime... of course accompanied with our djembes !
