Please help to find Krio speaker in Washington DC / Metro ar

We have a patient with a family who came to US for treatment. Unfortunately, they are not able to communicate with the hospital staff. We are desperately trying to find an interpreter as the patient can not continue with his treatment. This might seem like a silly question, but have you contacted the Sierra Leonean embassy?

There definitely are some folks from SL in the D.C. metro area (besides embassy staff, that is), but I don't know any names off the top of my head and no longer live in the area.

Wish I could be of more help - and I'm hoping that you've found someone, or soon will find someone.

hi lena, also try the american translators association (ata). the online directory doesn't allow you to search for a krio interpreter, so you might want to ring them. there is a good sized sierra leonean community in dc, so it shouldn't be too hard to find someone. i wish you luck!
