Paul Engel passed away last tuesday

Just heard that Paul Bernhard Engel, great musician and analyst of the structures of the music of the Malinke, one of the first to study and teach the djembe in Guinea with Famoudou Konaté, who also recorded the famous CD "Rhythmen der Malinke", passed away last tuesday. His influence on the djembe community not only in Germany cannot be overestimated. Although I never met him I am in grief, because drumming would't be the same for me without his outstanding accomplishments. May he rest in peace!
