New features include blogs. You can all create your own blog.

We also have various new anti=-spam features and a quick reply function...

There's more on the horizon, but I want to run with this for a while before we do more...

Let us know what you think! :)

good to see some of these ideas finally implemented!

this is a blog on 'roids! it's a bit more vanilla layout but with great possibilities. i can't wait to see the blogs that people come up with on this site! the best blog could be more popular than the rest of this site!

Wow, very nice work. Thanks, admin.

How/where should we report issues with the new features? In this thread?

i also noticed james installed the download mod. this will bring up a page with all downloads on the site, so you don't have to go looking for them in various threads or sections of the site. this will work together with a points system. more on that later.

i'm going to update the faq page when i get a bit of time, with a mixture of how to use the board/site and the most common questions asked on the forums here. wouldn't it be cool if when someone had a question you could link to a faq entry from a drop down list. james, if you can set something like that up, it would allow everyone to be involved in keeping this site smooth - like a true community should be.

so, to get started with your blog, click on 'my blog' up top (you must be logged in), then click 'new entry'. it's just like posting a forum message, and you can add pics, sound clips and other files, videos and bbcode to your blog entries.

if there's enough support i'll hold a comp for best blog. winner gets a drumming cd or other goodies.

I just noticed that, if I'm not logged in, the "Blogs" and "My Blog" links are not shown on the page header. Is that intentional? I ask mainly because in the UCP, on the "Blog" tab, under "Permissions", I can select "Allow guests to read blog". Now that doesn't make sense if guests don't even know the blogs exist... Also, when I try to access my blog via its URL when I'm not logged in, I'm presented with a page that forces me to log in first.

It would be nice if I had control over whether my blog should be accessible to everyone, or to board members only.

Cheers,

Michi.

This appears to be a feature of this modification which is installed as standard. I marked that as something I want to change, but have been up the walls busy since...

I'll see if I can find a solution for this asap.
