I see Fams American tour has been cancelled for health reasons. Anyone have any news on that?

I was talking to Helen Bond about it after I heard and she said he's fully recovered now. His workshop in Germany is still going ahead in August as far as I know

Yes, I spoke to her also and you're right, he seems to feeling well.

i have a friend who went to see him in guinea after his mali workshop and he said he looked 100% normal, healthy.

a friend of mine talked to Billy Kounate last Tuesday, and it seems his father, the beloved Famoudou, is in the hospital in Conakry, and it sounded pretty serious judging by Billys voice. It seems to something hearth-related...

this is what thomas goldhahn, famoudou's rep in germany, had to say:

Famoudou is definitely not in a hospital in Conakry. He did have a little maladie at the beginning of 2010, but it was nothing serious. Famoudou appreciates all the concern and well-wishes. So worry ye not, he is up and running and in good spirits

As always, he spends the months between May and November either at his German homebase in Pappenheim/Bavaria, or is doing workshop trips all over the world.

He has just returned from his very successful two-week workshop in Bamberg, and will soon be heading to Sicily, then Zagreb, Mannheim, and of course the winter workshop in Conakry.
