Shea butter is rich in vitamin A, D, and E. You can buy it at the Body Shop. I'm sure there are plenty of other places that sell it. If you can't find it locally, Drumskull have shea butter for sale.

Cheers,

Michi.

A lot of hand lotions and soaps with lotion in them have shea butter in their formulas.

I do like shea butter, but really, there are a lot of other good things out there for dry skin and splits. (Unscented at that.) I've taken to using a cream that's actually marketed for use on the feet during the winter - it's called Lamisilk. The packaging looks very "girly," but the cream is unscented. It's the best thing I've ever come across for super-dry, callused skin.

I've also used a couple of hand/skin lotions that have goat's milk as one of the primary ingredients, and those are nice, too.

Overall, I think plain shea butter is a little too greasy to use on my hands, but that's just me... :)
