Calendar

Postby James » Sun Oct 03, 2010 11:36 am

I am putting together a djembe related calendar and hope to have it ready in 4 weeks.

The intention is to give 30% of profits to a West African oriented charity.

The calendar itself will contain 12 large images, 1 per month.

I am looking for submissions of photos at the moment, and was wondering if you have any photos you'd like to submit? If so please email me on james at djembefoladotcom.

If possible I would like to match photos to each month and I would like the calendar have as an international a feel as possible.

If you have events that you feel should be on the calendar please let me know, either by email or by posting here. These should at least be known nationally, because we will of course be limited in the number of events that we can put on a calendar without it becoming over crowded.

We intend to make the calendar available with bulk discounts, which will allow people selling them to make a real profit. Bulk discounts would start at 10 calendars.

Can you please let me know if you would be interested (hypothetically) in such bulk orders and if you were, how many calendars you think you would buy.

I am not looking for commitment, I am just trying to evalueate the level of demand before printing.

If you would like to nominate a charity you can do so either here or by email.

Thanks
James

about time, james!

by 'as international a feel as possible' i take it you mean the events, not the photos!

i don't mind the charity as long as they are doing plenty of good things in africa, specifically west africa which misses out with a lot of the big organisations. clean water, education, that sort of thing. will do some research this week...

How would this work, surely you would have to tailor it to the US or european market eventwise.

i can't see any reason it couldn't include events from all countries? not weekly lessons, but stick to special workshops, camps, conferences & special concerts.

We will see how it works out, but we should comfortably be able to fit a few events on...

I'm thinking I'd like include the big things like Dunun Village, Mama Africa, Mini-Guinea, My birthday, etc.

The focus of this doesn't necessarily need to be on events though... it's more about the photos...
