I recently went to Bamako, Mali and bought an 10 string Ngoni in the market; however, due to poor packing, my calabash broke and so im left with a nice gash; however, here is a picture of the clean side of my kamale Ngoni so you get a sense of what it looks like. I studied with a guy in Bamako on the streets within the city. If you are looking for a great place to stay, i suggest checking this out (Djembe players and Ngoni players alike): http://www.rootsyrecords.com/HtmlFiles/DjembeHotel.html

Hi, I broke my calabash too (actually the backage handler did)... I drilled small holes on either side of the crack, then sowed it together with fishing line. It fine now.. It was in about three pieces before

Hi all, please, in whatever way you pray, please do so for my good friend and African brother, Tani. He was in a horrible car accident and is very badly injured. He is in stable condition but with many broken bones and internal injuries. He is the kamale n'goni player I talked about earlier in the thread. He's in so much pain...It's so hard to see him like this.
