atam

- three djembes, 2 shoulder straps, 2 waist straps, 1 pulling tool, 2 bags, and a hardcase on order,

It is interesting - I also have this obsessive symptoms

But with my 6 djembes (only 4 with skin-on), bougarabou, dundun set and plenty of accessories, I really dont see your situation too serious yet What´s worst, the most difficult thing seems to be to sell a drum of mine, even if I dont play on it !

I am catching up , its now

- 5 djembes, 2 shoulder straps, 5 waist straps, 5 rope handles, 2 pulling tool, 1 pulling stand, 3 bags and 1 on order, a hardcase, 1 set ksing ksing and 1 in the making.

Ok Atam, you win (for now  ), but remember I've only been at this since last Sept. (oh, did I mention I'm a bit competitive? It didn't come up before because I knew that BD (Before Djembe). ;)

Nerd, where did you order your hardcase? I'm actually serious--I've been looking for one and haven't been able to find anything suitable/reasonable.

I had my wife bring it for me when she was in London. They don;t ship to US and have no dealer here. Here is the link to their site.

There is a thread with hardcase, you might want to look at it. There is a US supplier too but I didn't liked that one.

I found the Hardcase source on-line, but as you mention, there's no US distribution, and shipping internationally is obscene (I think they wanted about 100 pounds for the case and 100 pounds for shipping). It's really too bad, because they seem to have a really good product for a good price (assuming you could get it for ~$150 US). It's kinda surprising hard cases aren't the standard for carrying djembes around instead of the cloth/padded designs.

Let us know what you think once you get it.

If that question was for me, I already have it.

Its a good case with bad wheel assembly. Mine wheel came out in the first air travel. It was secured by a weak washer. I bought some hardware and wheels and made it quite strong.

The case itself is very good. In the 14" djembe case, i put my djembe with the padded case. It fits and doesn;t move at all, so I have the hard plastic and the padded protection. No problem thinking if the base will fit or not.

The djembe has given me:

-peace of mind, to let my thoughts float free
-a way to unplug
-a creative outlet
-a way to connect with other people

The Djembe has in many ways been profound to me. It is obvious to me now that I feel better and even sleep better after playing the Djembe for a good long session. I know there is physical healing that takes place from playing. From an emotional healing stand point the Djembe has helped me to get through one of the most difficult times of my life. In the month of April I started taking the lessens and playing the Djembe. In the month of May my Mother passed away. I did not stop going to lessons through the whole time. I continued to play and I know it helped me to heal and continues to do so. The Djembe and the people who play it are a powerful force.
