rytthym called bo-la-ee?

Postby DjembeKevin » Thu Jun 14, 2012 10:14 pm

Anyone know how this is pronounced or spelled properly?

I don't really know how to right notation properly but I will give it a try.

S S S . S S B B is the first part

Ss . S S B B . . S B S B S B B . - Ss is a slap flam, I dont know how to put the rests in this one I think that is right?

SSSS B S B . SS B S BSBS B SS

in the last one the notes that are closer together are faster than the notes with spaces in between, I don't know how to write it so that the fast notes are understood as closer together pretty sure I have to stretch the entire thing out and use double rests and single rests instead of just single rests.

Cant find this rythym anywhere and wanted to know how to notate properly.

You don't give an indication of pulse or time signature, so it's difficult to make sense of the notation. One way to it is to use the code tag and indicate the pulse. For example, binary passport then looks like this:

Code: Select all
1...2...3...4...
s..ss.tts..ss.tt

If you have a recording of the rhythm, upload a snippet, so we can have a listen.

Cheers,

Michi.

The name sounds like it might be Bolowi and I suppose the notation could be something like the break for Bolowi. I don't think I have notation but maybe recordings on an old recorder somewhere. I can look.

I may have been on the wrong track in my previous post. I recently found a recording of this rhythm here http://dutdutrecords.com/album.php?albumID=4 spelled Boloye
