My teacher used this in his CD, he uses in both ternary and binary rhythyms.

I will ask him about this next time. More details etc

Sounds similar to a general 4/4 call

I'm used to hearing:

% . t t . t . t t . t . t . . .


where % is a flam

Particularly from Famoudou and his students.

this sounds like:
Code: Select all
ttt t . t . t t . s . t . . .


where the 1st 3 tones are on the triplet side. Very similar calls in my mind. I'm sure I've used similar variations myself where I might "roll" into a call, emphasizing the 2nd half of the call for clarity.
