Dundunba rhythm djembe / dundun interaction

Postby James » Fri Apr 13, 2012 10:46 am

We have been working on some dundunba rhythms recently.

Kon (dundunbe, Bada and Konowoulen).

More so than anywhere else (I think) there is more interaction between djembe and dundun.

Especially between the djembe soloist and the Sangban (in my experience). I don't really understand how this stuff really works, and hope to get some help in understanding what's going on.

Is there a system or is it a feeling / connection between the drummers, or both?

Particularly in relation to blockages from the sangban to close solos etc.

I have felt this, too, I think! But have nothing to add.
