Anyone familiar with a rhythm called To...

Postby utjonsson » Sun Feb 12, 2012 6:30 pm

I was recently introduced to a djembe rhythm supposedly called Touyabah or Tobayah or something like that. Unfortunately only in the form of one djembe rhythm. Nothing more. I would greatly appreciate any further information/notation. Thanks.

Usually you can't tell much from one djembe accompaniment.

The only rhythm I know that sounds a bit like that is Toulounbeh (aka Wassolonka)

I've heard rhythms called touba which is very similar to goumbe, if not the same thing.

also, toubaka is a traditional piece of music that a lot of djembefola have adapted to djembes and dununs.
should i shave my moustache?
