what a nice vintage video. Harouna so young and skinny.
I wonder about his story. When did he go to Abidjan? How many years was he there? Did he start playing at Burkina?

Do you know who are the other djembefolas, and what are they doing now?

don't know when they went to Ivory Coast to live, they are from Burkina Faso. In that video the djembefolas are Issa, Harouna, Fatogoma and Issouf Dembele. Issouf died and the second cd (1999) was a tribute to him, called Hommage.

Yelemba did many tours and thanks to Womad festival I think they became well-known. I watched in a concert in 2004 in etnosur fest with the Rao performance.

They had 4 shows since their begining to the end of the group. 1st was La Révolte des Ancêtres, later Kapélé, Katana, and the last one was Rao.

I know only something about Harouna, who is living in Bobo Dioulasso now and is playing there with his group Parisi. They released a cd called Landa and currently are working in a new one.
