laou laou was born in matam. at the age of 10 he decided to follow in his father's footsteps (his father was a ballet djoliba national member) and be a djembefola. he played in ballet surakhata and wassa as a djembe soloist before being recruited into the boka juniors as a djembe soloist. after its leader, boka camara, passed away, he became the lead soloist of the group. laou laou has been teaching guinean percussion since 1997.

these 2 performance dvds feature a full ensemble with djembe, dunun, dance, bote, kora, bala, bolon and vocals. momo camara playing bolon, issiaka 'marco' diabate on 2nd djembe, mohamed 'briki' conte on sangban, kadialy 'pepe' conde on dununba, ibrahima sory 'rambo' bangoura on kenkeni.
