San Francisco Bay Area inna de house!

Greetings everyone,
I've been listening in on some great discussions at Djembefola.com. Thought I'd just introduce myself briefly. I'm originally from Puerto Rico and I've been playing the djembe for a little over 3 years now. I initially picked up the djembe as a way to connect with the African influences of Puerto Rican culture, namely bomba and plena. You might say I got hooked on West African music and never did get serious about the Afro-Caribbean side of things. Not complaining either.
