New member UK..

Just wanted to say "hi"! I'm a new drummer, started last September with Djembe but becoming increasingly interested in dunduns.. I play with 2 community groups and recently joined a performance group. I'm loving learning and and am travelling to Gambia in March for some tuition there.

All this drumming is playing havoc with my somewhat wimpy hands but have already found some helpful tips on the site to help me.

I look foward to being an active member of the site and getting to know you! :dundun:

Gill :)

Welcome Gill!

Good to hear you are getting into the duns. You'll be much in demand--there are probably twenty djembe players for ever dundun player...

If you go to Africa, you'll come back a changed person, both musically and otherwise. Go for it!

Cheers,

Michi.

Hello, Gill,
Good to find another UK member - most of the members seem to be from the USA. I just this minute joined. I have been drumming djembe for years, currently belong to Mendip All Drummers here in Somerset, and am beginning to learn about sangban, kenkeni & dundun too.

The hands have been okay, but just recently bruised a bit for some reason.

Best wishes,
heronman
