Hello tis the Kid here other wise known as keanie
Thought i'd reintroduce myself as i must have been on drugs for my old intro.. Ah the good ould days
I've always been drawn to making as much noise as possible. From an early age i was prolific at bangin the pots in the kitchen, totally dizzy at watching the washing machine spin and always searching for the loudest thing in the house to beat. It took me 25 years to find the ultimate noise makin device. The djembe. Why didn't i have this thing when i was a kid. Its not fair. Why did i have to get born in fuckin athlone.

. Anyways the drama past, i'm delighted to have found this thing called a djembe, jenbe, sacred instrument of the the malinke peoples
Life is brilliant here in the west of Ireland. I mean it.

. really do its sweet. I love this land and would blow up a shell pipeline to prove it..

. And I'D kick the US army out of Shannon. Fuck off and respect our neutrality. Ah sure whats the harm in a few hundred thousand troupes stopping of on the way to blow a major hole in humanity. better to sweep these things like moral conscience under the carpet or forget about them altogether or so it seems these days.
wheres my remote...
Sorry don't ya just love ranting,
.. back to the intro..
I've been playing djembe for about 5 years. I've been to Gambia 3 times for bout 9 months. There I was training with Bubacar Jatta from casamance and Koto Bangoura from Guinea Conakry. Learnt alot of useful stuff with Koto. It was a real great learning experience to hang out and train with a crazy guinean troupe. Since then i've met Mamady keita. trained with Ibrahima Sarr and with Fadouba before he passed away. RIP. It's a blessing and inspiration on my life to have actually met these guys.Amazing. The djembe is what brought me to these people. I'm delighted.
So i've been surfin here for a few years and have actually learnt a lot from the likes of Duga, Bops, Bubudi, Carl and Michi. Cheers guys. And of course everybody who makes an effort to communicate and help others out deserve my thanks. Thanxs everybody

. To all the lurkers. i love you guys.
James deserves a big thank you for making this whole thing happen and in his continued service to the Djembe community. How many connections have we made due to this site? Djembefola actually puts us in contact with all the djembe goings on around the world like classes, workshops, performances, artists, new albums, dvds, drum builders.. etcetc the list goes on
So Take it easy everybody.
Do you wanna just send me over that 50 bucks now, cheers.
