b, I've never liked writing "intro." posts - and somewhere here (in one of my 1st posts), there's an intro.

But... djembe/dundun fan (relative newbie, compared to most of you); also play darbuka and various frame drums, mostly in an Arabic (or related) style. Recent convert to the rhythm bones, too :)

Speaking of which, here are two of my favorite players in action - Dom Flemons on the left, Rowan Corbett on the right -

yea i'm not much into the intros myself, but i'm not going for the prize ;) one of these days, tho, i'll step forward and you'll all go, aha so that's who this monkey is ;) can i see your original intro from a while back (can you find the link)?

of course, as a fan of music in general, and particularly of djembe and dunun, as well as a person who is relatively isolated from any real teachers of this music, you have your own journey, your story to tell. it would make a good read if you ever felt like sharing it, even in a few paragraphs. no pressure though.

oh, I'm not just relatively isolated from teachers of this particular music, but from teachers of virtually everything I play and/or am learning to play - very much including the bones. :)

Someday I might just write a 'graph or two. As for my original "intro.," I'll have to dig it up - am pretty sure it goes something along the lines of "I live in X state and am studying with ___," though. (In other words, not much more informative than what I've already written, which is by choice.)

Should I ever end up with a MySpace Music page of my own, or in association with a group, well... then I'll post a bio. here! ;)

James, maybe I'll PM you, because I really dislike talking about myself in public/on public forums or webpages. I've had some bad experiences on the internet and try to keep my "personal" online self as separate as possible from my "business" online self... as well as keeping my various interests separate (different usernames, etc.).

Of course, you folks can always click on the link in my signature (and below my avatar) and have a look at my music blog... :) (No pressure, really! ;))

why thank you, michi! [blushes]

I don't usually make shameless self-promotional plugs for it, either... but I think peeps might find some things they like. :)
