Greetings from a new member in Prescott, AZ

Hi,

My name is Gaby McKayle. I recently moved to Prescott, Arizona from Rochester, New York. Rochester is where I began studying West African drumming -- I studied with Bush Mango Drum and Dance in Rochester, and also with Michael Markus of Magbana Drum and Dance in New York City. I have been playing for about 3 years.

I guess I should have read some other posts before I got started... not sure what to tell you. Kakilambe is one of my favorite rhythyms. I am very excited that Mamady Keita and Famoudou Konaté will be stopping in Phoenix as part of their grand masters tour, and I've signed up to take classes with both of them.

If anyone out there lives in Prescott, give me a holler. Or anyone else. I'd love to chat.
