Ring/loop finish

How do you get a nice and clean finish for the top ring?
Other options other than fabric?
Thank you!

Or flap the skin over it, so you don't have to look at the damn thing:)

This may seem obvious to you once you read it. Skin.

Take the skin left over after cutting out your round and cut it into a long strip. Soak this strip and wrap the ring. One thing I really like about this option is wasting as little of the skin as possible.

This is only one of the possibilities, limited only by your imagination.
