Postby Waraba » Tue Dec 28, 2010 2:37 am

Wula is selling drums made of "coza" wood. Can anyone tell me about this wood?

When you click on the djembe, the description that opens says :

Coza Hardwood Djembe
Wood: Lengue OR Acajou OR khadi
If you want to see me kick some butt, just tell me about all the things you think I won't be able to do

So what's coza mean? I don't get it. Those are 3 different woods, and acajou aint lengue.

Waraba, have you asked the folks at Wula?

That seems to be the simplest solution.

*

Edited to add: Wula has the info. on "Coza" right there in the item description! It has to do with the shell style.

The "Coza" model djembe is named after a neighborhood in Conakry, Guinea. We are happy to offer less expensive pieces, carved in our shop, that are great for a first hardwood djembe, travel gigs, classes, and of course, makes a great gift!

There are 4 Coza djembes available at the moment. Please contact us for details

They also say

Coza Hardwood Djembe
13"-13.5" x 24"
Wood: Lengue OR Acajou OR khadi

Forgive me for saying this, but I don't really get the point of this thread. There's nothing to debate, and certainly nothing confusing about their site copy.

i think matt asked a fair enough question and it was answered. nothing out of form or argumentative.

If there was no explanatory material on the site, sure... and no slam on matt intended. It could well be that the rest of the text was added later.

Check this: http://wuladrum.com/store/product_info. ... cts_id/767

The name "Coza" is used in the same way that they use "Artist," "Select," etc.

All cleared up now, folks, thank you. I hadn't found the explanation on the site but thank you for it. Thread closed with happy, satisfied resolution. Best to all!
