Drissa Kone

Postby jadelemonaid » Sat Jan 23, 2010 5:19 am

For those looking for Djembefolas from Mali, Drissa Kone is definitely one to check out and study with. He was my first real teacher and took my playing to a new level in just a couple of weeks. When I get more money, i definitely plan to study with him again:

I second that. I took a few lessons with him two years ago in Bamako. He's excellent.

Cheers,

Michi.

I agree, too. He is a good teacher and shows you the essence of a rhythm.

I'd love to hook up with him next time I'm in Mali.

Yes he does, but only a little. Enough to get by for lessons. Don't expect to have philosophical conversations or anything along these lines though :-)

Cheers,

Michi.

Hi Gerhard,

sounds good. could you provide a tracklist for the cd? if possible not just by the title of the songs, but also of the rhythms?

cheers, jürgen
