Oh yes, my karma is now down to $10, even though I haven't downloaded anything as far as I know. I now find myself in the same boat as a casual visitor would: just about everything doesn't work right anymore.
I've been advertising djembefola.com with my students and at drumming circles. Some of my recent posts about Mamady's camp were forwarded to Queensland mailing list with several hundred recipients. From the feedback I get from some of these people, I think that this significantly boosted visitor numbers. What are all these people going to think when they see this mess?
I want my students to be able to come here and learn. So what if they don't post anything? They'll be denied the privilege of listening to the sound clips people post here? Come on! I don't care whether people post here or not: we used to have a forum where anyone could come and learn. And, after learning and listening for a while, some of those people may decide to post in their own good time. I think they are entitled to do just that, and it's not up to us to tell them otherwise.
Cheers,
Michi.
PS: I'll try to stop ranting soon. But it may take me another few days to settle down...
