fana bangoura on lead djembe.

the two dudes on the far right, tyler and karim koumbassa are at least rocking the old school bao accompaniments.
should i shave my moustache?

yea there's some overlap between the two. i see people mash them up kind of like people do with djole and macru.

the dance moves are sick tho. i want to see more of this style.

Bao works best with the dununba upright. The real bao language is in the dununba variations, which sound best with two sticks, IMO. Also sounds nice with some krins.

yea that's one of the few 'guinean' rhythms that originally were played with upright dununs. i agree it sounds better that way. there's a krinfola sitting behind the dununfolaw. he's a bit drowned out by the others though.

the seattle world rhythm festival attracts thousands of drummers and dancers. most, if not all of the workshops are free...hence the big class.
should i shave my moustache?
