Cool! I really shouldn't be throwing money at another djembe right now, but it's definitely tempting. :)

yea that is one of the finest iroko shells i've seen. nice spotted skin on that, too! and the spalting towards the top of the stem is beautiful.

how much is that drum going for, duga?

dunno bubs...you should contact the shop and inquire if you're really interested. that skin got taken off.

my guess is around 300 for the shell (200 for wood + 100 for rubber bottom). maybe more since it has the bottom ring and has a perfect bearing edge already on it.

you play ultimate?

ivory coast drums are really really nice as long as you check them out before you purchase. a lot of times, the shells get cut when the wood is still really wet/green.

here are pics of my latest ivory coast shell. i recently sold it because it was a tad on the small side for big paws. if it were a quarter to half inch bigger on the inner diameter, i would have kept it no doubt.

Yeah I play ultimate at college and at home, great fun! You play?

As for djembes, I'm going to get a bonus at work for completing a project early, and my dad has just revealed to me that he 'borrowed' a large sum of my money without me knowing, and he's going to give it back, so I'll likely be able to expand my budget! :afro:

I'll let y'all know what happens, thanks for your help

Also, I went to the All Asia Bar in Cambridge to see Sidy play but I was not allowed in because it was a 21+ bar :(
