Dunun problems

Postby dleufer » Thu May 27, 2010 8:38 pm

In January 2009 I contacted a site after seeing his dununs for sale on his website. We eventually negotiated a deal of 545 euro for one set of dimba duns with black rope, a lenke djembe shell, 2 skins and a djembe bag sent by INSURED postage.
After 6 weeks nothing arrived and I contacted him to ask for any info. He responded:

Thanks for letting me know , we have had items take longer than expected before to the U.K. due to customs delays, especially since the recent anthrax scare. The insurance will cover you for a new set +P+P if they don't show up. In any case i will check with the post office here to see if they have had any news.

After another few weeks I contacted him again and received the following response:

i'd have thought they'll be with you way before the end of May , but that will be the cut off point for a refund or replacement. Also if i happen have a similar set in the U.K. or Ireland before then i'll get them to you.

Over the last year there has been intermittent contact but just last night he refunded me the entire amount. Although the thing dragged on for a year at least he finally gave me my refund.

I wouldn't buy anything from a website that has a yahoo email as the only contact.

By sharing your experience here, you might have saved someone some money and headaches.
If you want to see me kick some butt, just tell me about all the things you think I won't be able to do

I wonder if anyone on the Yahoo djembe-l list has had similar experiences... He used to make ad-type posts over there on a pretty regular basis.
